1761. Govt to launch FASTag-based annual pass of ₹3,000 for private vehicles from August 15: Gadkari
- On June 18, 2025, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) announced the launch of a FASTag-based Annual Pass, priced at ₹3,000, which will be effective from August 15, 2025.
- Designed for non-commercial vehicles such as cars, jeeps, and vans, the annual pass will remain valid for one year or up to 200 highway trips whichever comes first. The initiative aims to simplify toll payments and improve travel convenience on National Highways.
- The Annual Pass will be available for activation and renewal via the Rajmarg Yatra App and official NHAI and MoRTH websites. It addresses complaints about toll plazas within a 60 km range, offering a single, affordable solution that reduces congestion, wait times, and toll-related disputes for millions of private vehicle users.

1762. INS Arnala commissioned into Indian Navy: Know all about the first vessel of ASW-SWC series
- INS Arnala, the first ASW-SWC vessel, was commissioned on 18 June 2025. at Visakhapatnam under Eastern Naval Command in the presence of CDS General Anil Chauhan and other dignitaries.
- The ship is 77 meters long, weighs over 1,490 tonnes, and is powered by a Diesel Engine-Waterjet propulsion system, enabling agility in shallow waters for missions like anti-submarine warfare, sub-surface surveillance, LIMO, and rescue operations.
- Named after Maharashtra’s Arnala Fort, INS Arnala reflects India’s evolution into a “Builder’s Navy”, showcasing home-grown stealth, sensors, and warfare systems, and aligning with the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision in defence manufacturing.
1763. Made-in-India business jet by 2028: JV of France’s Dassault, Anil Ambani-led company to manufacture Falcon 2000 planes in Nagpur
- On 18 June 2025, Dassault Aviation, in partnership with Reliance Aerostructure Ltd, announced at the Paris Air Show that it will manufacture its Falcon 2000 business jet in Nagpur, India, with the first jet expected by 2028.
- The strategic collaboration marks a major step in boosting India’s aerospace manufacturing ecosystem, aligning with the "Make in India" initiative.
- Dassault also partnered with Tata Advanced Systems to set up a facility in Hyderabad for manufacturing the fuselage of Rafale fighter jets, further deepening its long-standing defense and industrial relationship with India, built over decades through aircraft like the Mirage 2000 and Rafale in the Indian Air Force fleet.
1764. Maruti Suzuki's Manesar Plant Gets India's Largest Automobile Multi-Modal Cargo Terminal
- On June 17, 2025, Maruti Suzuki’s Manesar plant in Haryana unveiled India’s largest in plant multi modal cargo terminal, formally opening a direct railway link into the factory compound.
- The terminal a part of the Haryana Orbital Rail Corridor, features a 6.9 km track to the Northern Railway at Patli and can ship up to 450,000 cars annually effectively easing highway congestion and cutting CO₂ emissions by about 175,000 tonnes each year.
- The inaugural train, carrying 276 cars to Nagpur, marks Maruti’s green logistics push the firm aims to shift 35% of vehicle dispatches to rail by 2030–31, with anticipated savings of 60 million litres of fuel annually.
1765. FM lays foundation stone for Mini Planetarium & Astro Globe at Hanle
- On June 16, 2025, the Union Finance Minister laid the foundation stone for a Mini Planetarium and Astro Globe at Hanle Dark Sky Reserve, Ladakh, costing Rs 276.65 lakh under the Special Development Package (SDP), aiming to boost scientific education, astro-tourism, and local employment, per Daily Excelsior.
- At the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre’s MACE Telescope facility, Prof. Annapurni Subramaniam (IIA) and Dr. K.K. Yadav (BARC) briefed Sitharaman on achievements, with the minister praising the project as a “national pride” and urging public-focused astrophysics programs.
- FM also distributed goat-shearing machines and a Rs 50 lakh SBI CSR cheque for 16 community tents, while the Departments of Sheep and Animal Husbandry showcased nomadic lifestyles.

1766. North Eastern Council approves Rs 14.22 cr for development projects in Tripura
- On June 16, 2025, the North Eastern Council (NEC) approved a Rs 14.22 crore package for development projects in Tripura, targeting rural infrastructure, agriculture, fisheries, education, and cultural preservation, as per the Information and Cultural Affairs (ICA) Department.
- Key allocations include Rs 10.71 lakh for pig breeding farms in Hawai Bari and Jalepha, Rs 2.64 crore for service delivery in Ganganagar and Raishyabari RD Blocks, Rs 1 crore for pond renovation, Rs 2 crore for six Integrated Seed Processing Plants, and Rs 3 crore for modernizing two agricultural markets.
- Additional funds support an Rs 80 lakh Integrated Pack House in Dhalai, Rs 1.51 crore for poultry hatcheries, Rs 30 lakh for a school building at Vivekananda Tripureswari Vidya Mandir, and initiatives like GI product workshops, an international chemistry conference, and solar-powered irrigation for orchid gardens.

1767. New Infrastructure Projects Launched in Samba
- On June 15, 2025, the Lieutenant Governor of J&K laid the foundation stone for a 500-seat auditorium and upgradation work at Government Higher Secondary School in Gurha Slathia, Samba, funded entirely through charitable contributions, fulfilling a February 2025 community demand for enhanced educational infrastructure.
